Leon Mangrobang Jr. He is my loving father . He was born in Mayantoc February of 1923. At that time Mayantoc was still a Jungle and still under the Japanese occupation. His father Leon Sr. migrated to Mayantoc from the Ilocos region. They came to Mayantoc with only a strong will to survive for a better life. As a musician who plays Trumpet and saxophone he traveled to the small barrios for weddings, Christmas and Fiestas. With a little savings from here in there he bought a young Carabao for farming Then found my Mother and get married at a very early ages.

Farming was there only means of livelihood. They save every single penny and latter bought small piece of land of there own. When NIA came to Mayantoc through Magsaysay Dam, there small land was the center of the Canal. As a consolation of the damages he was employed as the Ditch tender of the irrigation system in Pitombayog. As a young boy I have witnessed there tremendous hardship. My father works for NIA during the day and go farming  during the night. They sleep very little and every time I remember those days my tears fall down and said what a life. They have a very good plan for there children, They never wanted us to be like them  they work so hard to send us in college They are so wonderful.

All there hardship has been rewarded. All of us there children finished college and now have a good and wonderful life. My sister Cita Graduated at Mary Chiles Hospital and now the owner CEO and President of Hidden Paradise Resort. I ( Ric)  Graduated Engineering , Zeny Graduated Nursing, Romeo Graduated Engineering and Eliza Graduated Business. Gabby, Ano ba and tinapos mo Amboy?  Everyone has its own family now and all the Grandchildren in USA even reaches and pursue a very high education. All member of the family is still very close regardless of the distance between us.

Tatang now is 74 and it's very sad to say he is very sick. My only prayer now is I hope he could survive the chemo therapy treatment. I have promised him that I will built a monument at our old house in the barrio. That his legacy and life story will be shared to the visitors of the Hidden Paradise Resort. He was happy to hear that from me. Even the chances of survival is almost zero I still expect for a MIRACLE the same miracle how he get out from poverty. I NEED YOUR PRAYER BROTHERS AND SISTERS AROUND THE WORLD.
